"I was able to see the device unknown partitions" -- In fact this looks like garbage (or whatever) interpreted as a partition table. Compare to this question and my answer there. The difference is your Windows had no problem. It was you who assumed there has to be a partition table (you are the "future admin" from this answer :)). I suspect if you tried to mount the entire device then it would work. Sorry I had no time to clarify this yesterday.
