TOCTOU. Probably two
cps in about the same time see the directory does not exist and they both decide it needs to be created. One does create it, the other tries, fails and prints the message in question. Had it checked slightly later, it would know it does not need to create the directory. Does the error prevent the unlucky cp from actually copying the files?
